One of the kitchen breakers has started tripping every few days, usually when the kettle and microwave are both on, which makes sense on some level but it's never done it before. I'm wondering if the breaker itself is getting weak or if there's something more going on in the wiring. I'm in Palo Alto so I've been looking into a Premium electrician in Palo Alto, but I want to understand whether this is genuinely urgent or something I can monitor for a bit. Has anyone had a breaker start tripping like this and what did it turn out to be? Also, is it worth just replacing the breaker, or does that risk masking a real problem that should be found first? I'd rather not have an electrical fire, obviously, but I also don't want to pay for a full rewire if it's just a tired breaker.
