I've never owned a car with air suspension but I keep hearing people rave about the ride quality, and I'm wondering whether it's genuinely transformative or just a nice-to-have that people talk up because they paid for it. My current car rides fine on smooth roads but gets crashy over speed bumps and rough patches, and with the amount of driving I do, comfort has become more important to me than it used to be. I want to learn how air suspension improves ride comfort before I consider it as a factor in my next car, because I'd rather understand the actual mechanism than just believe the hype. Has anyone switched from standard suspension to air and found the difference genuinely noticeable on a daily basis? Or is it one of those things you only really appreciate on long journeys?
