Arc Raiders workbench upgrades are not just a shopping list. They determine which risks are worth taking on the surface, especially when a rare component also supports powerful equipment. The Rocketeer Driver is the key example: it unlocks Explosives Station Level 3 and remains valuable afterward. If you are comparing ARC Raiders BluePrints, this guide explains when to search for Drivers, when to fight for them, and when preserving one matters more than immediate crafting.

Why Rocketeer Drivers Matter

Upgrading the Explosives Station from Level 2 to Level 3 requires three Rocketeer Drivers, three Laboratory Reagents, and five Explosive Compounds. The upgrade unlocks higher-tier explosive crafting, including the Wolfpack recipe.

That makes the Driver a progression material before it becomes a general crafting resource. A Wolfpack also requires one Driver, so the demand continues after the station upgrade. Spending one too early can delay a permanent workbench improvement for the sake of a single deployment.

◆ Keep every Driver until the Explosives Station reaches Level 3.

◆ Treat surplus Drivers as future Wolfpack materials, not ordinary salvage.

◆ Avoid planning your progression around receiving the maximum possible loot from one target.

Start With Rocketeer Husks

For most players, Husk searches are the sensible first approach. Rocketeer Husks can appear across the maps and may contain intact Drivers. They do not guarantee one, but several searchable remains can create more opportunities without forcing an exposed aerial fight.

This route suits solo players and developing loadouts particularly well. Search areas where you understand the extraction routes, use cover while checking remains, and leave once the material is secured. First Wave Husks, sometimes called Husk Graveyard by players, is associated with larger numbers of ARC remains, although the event still does not promise a Driver.

◆ Search Husks when your ammunition or heavy-combat equipment is limited.

◆ Choose a route with nearby extraction options before opening remains.

◆ Stop treating the deployment as a loot run once the required Driver is found.

When Fighting a Live Rocketeer Makes Sense

A defeated Rocketeer is the most direct source. Search its wreckage carefully because it may have multiple lootable sections, and community observations suggest that more than one Driver can sometimes appear. The result is variable, so a route should never depend on the best possible outcome.

The encounter is easier when you focus on openings around the thrusters rather than standing in the open and trading damage. Solid cover, useful elevation, enough ammunition, and a clear extraction path matter more than rushing the kill. The noise can also draw other Raiders or smaller ARC units, turning a successful fight into a dangerous escape.

◆ Begin only when you can maintain damage against a large airborne target.

◆ Preserve defensive supplies for the retreat instead of using everything immediately.

◆ Listen for nearby movement before engaging and after collecting the wreckage.

Map Choice and Resource Discipline

Rocketeers have been observed near the Primary Facility and Testing Annex on Dam Battlegrounds, around the Parking Garage and Research Building on Buried City, and near Pilgrim's Peak on Blue Gate. These are tendencies, not fixed positions. Dam Battlegrounds can be useful for learning because elevated structures offer longer sightlines, while Buried City provides more opportunities to break line of sight between buildings.

Recycling a Driver into ARC Alloy can be reasonable only after the station upgrade is complete and your next Wolfpack plan is covered. Before then, the Driver's progression value is higher than its salvage return. If you lose one during an optional detour, the delay can outweigh several ordinary resource gains.

Rocketeer Drivers reward patience more than speed. Search Husks first, take the live fight only when terrain and supplies support it, and extract immediately after reaching your objective. Once Level 3 is complete, spend Wolfpacks selectively and consider buy ARC Raiders Items only as a convenience, not as a substitute for understanding the resource loop.
